Oh Joy! 5 ways you can find joy every day

We all know that being happy and content is good for our health. Finding joy is like supercharging your happiness to the next level. It’s an elevation that is contagious, not to mention makes you amazingly attractive. Here are five ways you can find joy everyday.

 

Be Present

I’ve talked about this before and it’s applicable to everything you do. Being present and mindful will mean you can focus and appreciate the little things. You will find joy when you enjoy a view, a smell, a meal, or someone’s company.

 

Feed your inner child

It’s a cliché for sure…that’s because it’s true! Do you ever notice how engaged and engrossed children are in anything they do? Adults needn’t miss out on the The Callanetics Studio is all about joyfun. Let yourself be silly, let go of judging yourself and you will find immense joy! It’s about allowing yourself some play time where you can have some fun.  If you’re on your walk, why not skip for the last 10 meters to your front door? When you’re in this headspace you can laugh at your self and create those moments of joy out of the seemingly mundane. Feeding that inner child also means letting your imagination run away and allow playfulness to creep into your day. Look for animals in the clouds or sing while you clean…get creative and make your own fun!

 

Move your body

It’s no news that moving your body is essential for a healthy body and a healthy mind. It’s also a quick way to a healthy attitude of joyful satisfaction. There are the obvious ways of getting moving like dancing and working out which will certainly bring you much joy. Why not move your body in a totally different way by doing impersonations? It’s so much fun to mimic someone and feel what it’s like to move like them! It could be a celebrity or your aunty…get everyone involved by turning off the TV and playing charades. Bring in the childish enthusiasm and stay in the moment and you’ll have a ball. Priceless family memories coming up!

Let the good times roll! The more ‘into’ something you are, the more joyful you’ll find it. Avoid censoring yourself and learn to laugh at yourself. You’ll be such an attractive person to be around if you’re light and looking for fun. This is all part of looking 10 years younger and is such a complement to your Callanetics workouts. When you are a joy seeker, your face lights up and is open. Goodbye worry lines!

 

Spread the joy!

They say happiness is best when shared. Be the bearer of good humor and joy. Why not be the person to lift others up? Someone has to be first on the dance floor! If you can be the first to be a little silly, you’ll probably find that everyone else relaxes too. Being uptight and outta sight never got anyone anywhere. Ultimately we all want to be happy and life is short, so you might as well have some fun!
